Building Homes with Habitat for Humanity

For four days in February, teams of Wax staff members drove south to Homestead to participate in the annual Habitat for Humanity Blitz Build—a construction event where 2,000 volunteers build 10 homes in two weeks.
For this year’s Schrader Haven build, Waxians painted, nailed, hung dry wall, spackled, caulked and cleaned houses for two deserving families—with no injuries, to boot! And while most of us admittedly are better project managers, designers, editors and salespeople, we all enjoyed laboring on something more tangible than a marketing strategy and lasting than a quarterly newsletter.
