It was a convivial gathering on a blustery evening at the CPC’s 2009 Custom Content Conference opening reception in Sunny Isles Beach last night.
After dinner, Miami history guru Dr. Paul George shared secrets about local architecture movements, including the Art Deco District, Miami Modernism (MiMo) and the yet-to-be-named style of condos now dominating the downtown skyline. Among his insights: when you visit the newly revamped Fontainebleau, look closely at the lobby tiles. The bowtie motif pays homage to original resort designer Morris Lapidus’ neckgear of choice.
