Bites, bevvies & buddies

Several of us Wax ladies, plus Julian, our Rico Suave of Sales, attended Best Buddies’ annual Moveable Feast last week. And what a feast it was.

Several of us Wax ladies (Julian, our Rico Suave of Sales, also joined us) attended Best Buddies’ annual Moveable Feast last week. On an uncharacteristically blustery (65 – that’s chilly for us thin-blooded South Floridians!) evening, five of us hit up Lincoln Road on a tasting journey to benefit Best Buddies, a Miami-based organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities.

The night kicked off at Gemma Lounge with cocktails and a show-stealing sushi roll from sponsor Sushi Samba and Best Buddy participant Nicholas Zamorano. Next stop: Britto Central, where our senses were piqued by his brilliant colorful creations and the wafting scent of shrimp gumbo from Emeril’s station outside. Here Marie and I befriended Deborah, another Best Buddy participant, who said she was nervous about the speech she was to make that night. I’m happy to report that Deborah charmed the Chanel off that crowd with her wide smile and gentle laugh.

Then it was off to the Lincoln Center Courtyard for Sugar Lovin’s heavenly mini cupcakes amid larger-than-life fiberglass flamingos. We just had to make a stop at hotspot SET for one last drink before finishing the night off at the Ritz-Carlton and chowing down on round 2 (or was it 3?) of desserts provided by Ghirardelli. We all left Moveable Feast that night well fed in our tummies and our hearts.
