Not to go all high hat on our blog or anything – but Karla Gordillo joined me to whip up a little something with Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink chef Michael Schwartz and pastry chef Hedy Goldsmith the other night. It wasn’t exactly an intimate soiree. The Food, Friends & Fun evening, part of the Miami Wine and Food Festival, drew hundreds of party-goers for the interactive dinner and auction to raise money for the United Way of Miami-Dade and Camillus House. On the menu: wild salmon with a hearts of palm salad drizzled with citrus oil; mushroom risotto; NY strip steak over salad; and a key lime cake with fresh fruits and coconut rum. And lots and lots of wine.
