Next for Oral Health? A Smart Toothbrush

One in four of us dread a visit to the dentist, but there’s a new device that may help make trips to the dentist a more pleasant affair.

The Kolibree toothbrush, the world’s first Internet-connected toothbrush syncs with a smartphone app that records how well you’ve brushed.

The toothbrush connects via Bluetooth technology. Once connected, the app records every single brush stroke. The toothbrush includes a sensor which detects how much tartar is being removed in a brushing. It also records brushing activity so users can maintain a consistent cleaning each time.

The goal of the Kolibree toothbrush is not to brush stronger, but smarter.

This device available later this year is just another way new technology is improving healthcare. To learn more about other apps that are improving medicine and for information on creating your own custom app contact Wax Custom Communications at 305-350-5700 or visit waxcom.com.
