9. Secret lives of Waxians: Office manager Jason Baez deejays every Saturday night at hip new South Beach club Provocateur. Graphic designer Jean Saiz spends Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays playing a guitar in a still unnamed hard rock band. Graphic designer Christian Schrader‘s Brussels Griffon is named Gabo, after Nobel Prize-winning author Gabriel Garcia Marquez because “he kind of looks like him” and loves to eat books.

We’re an easy walk to Bayside Marketplace, AmericanAirlines Arena (Miami Heat and performers like Julio Iglesias), the lovely Gusman Center for the Performing Arts, the Historical Museum of Southern Florida and the historic Seybold Building.

A number of Waxians are newlyweds: Scot Corson, who honeymooned in the Caribbean with wife Dana; Christian Schrader, who got married twice (to the same woman, the charming Stefanie), in Miami and in Bogotá, Colombia (and whose Miami wedding featured deejay and office manager Jason Baez); Caroline Hatchett, who tied the knot with William and jetted off to explore Provence; and Karla Gordillo, who’s off soon to Bali with husband Jason.
